Home page building checklist

What should I put on my homepage?

This is a common question that I get asked. Your homepage is the place to begin a dialogue with your visitor. Many of your website visitors will find your homepage first. With that in mind, you need to make a solid first impression.

Below is a quickie homepage-building checklist:

Strong headline:
Your homepage should be clear, simple – concise! It should explain what you do, who you do it for and how you do it differently. The simpler the language, the more effective the message.

Explain how you can solve your visitors problems:

Along with you clear concise headline, your introduction should grab your audience right away, making them understand that you can help them and their specific problem.

Social Proof:

Testimonials from past customers, logos of clients you have worked with. Spots on podcasts or blogs, articles that demonstrate your expertise and can get visitors excited about your offerings. Brag a little!

An opt-in freebie

Optional but a good way to build an email list (if that’s your thing) – freebies always do the trick!

Footer

A great place to include important stuff – important contact details, social links, blog posts, acknowledgement of country – things that you want to include throughout the whole site.
